About this yatra

Goddess Badimalika is one of Nepal's most powerful Shakti Peeths — a sacred mountain shrine at 4,200 m in remote Bajura district, far-western Nepal. The temple draws thousands of pilgrims each Janai Purnima (August full moon) and during Dashain. Choose between our Standard 6-day package with round-trip flights to Sanphebagar, or the budget 8-day Drive Only option via Nepalgunj. Both routes start and end in Kathmandu, include the trek to the temple, full puja arrangement, and camping crew at the base.

    Arrive Kathmandu

    Airport pickup with welcome drink. Hotel check-in in Thamel. Evening yatra briefing — kit check, altitude prep for the 4,200 m temple, weather contingency plan. Overnight Kathmandu.

    Fly KTM → Nepalgunj → Sanphebagar, drive to Martadi

    Early morning flight to Nepalgunj (1 hr). Connecting flight to Sanphebagar in Achham district (45 min, scenic). Drive 4-5 hrs north on hill roads to Martadi — Bajura district headquarters. Local Newari/Thakuri dinner. Overnight Martadi.

    Drive Martadi → Tribeni Sangam → trek to base camp (3,800 m)

    Morning drive ~3 hrs to Tribeni Sangam (sacred confluence). Begin trek 3-4 hrs up rhododendron forest trails to Badimalika base camp at 3,800 m. Camping with full crew. Acclimatisation rest. Overnight tented camp.

    Pre-dawn trek to Badimalika temple (4,200 m) → return

    Pre-dawn start (4 AM) for the most auspicious sunrise darshan. Trek 2-3 hrs to Badimalika temple at 4,200 m. Shakti Peeth darshan, full puja arrangement, holy bell ringing ritual. Many pilgrims report deep emotional experiences here. Return to base camp by mid-afternoon. Overnight tented camp.

    Trek down → fly Sanphebagar → KTM

    Trek down 3-4 hrs to Tribeni. Drive back to Sanphebagar airport. Fly to Nepalgunj, connect to Kathmandu. Farewell dinner. Overnight Kathmandu.
